Aliment.AR, the exhibition that adds value to Latin America, opened yesterday

The first edition of the B2B food, beverages and trends exhibition was launched in Tecnópolis, with the presence of 350 buyers from 44 countries that from yesterday until Friday will be holding 9000 business meetings with 300 exporter companies from Argentina and the rest of the region. During the inauguration, it was informed that the 9th edition of LAC Flavors generated business for USD 152 million between Tuesday and Wednesday, what builds up the expectations of the exhibition.

With the traditional ribbon-cutting, Aliment.AR opened its doors to 350 buyers from 44 countries who from yesterday until Friday will be finding a wide range of foods and beverages of 300 exporters of Argentina and the rest of Latin America.

“Aliment.AR hopes to become the gondola for the food offer of Latin America, the place where the international buyers of food and beverages come for products,” the general manager of Exponenciar, Rodrigo Ramírez, stated before a large group of officials and representatives from organizations.

As run-up for Aliment.AR, the business round LAC Flavors, held for the first time in Argentina, finished at midday yesterday. Organized by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) via and the Argentine Agency for Investment and International, with the support of the Ministry of Agroindustry of Argentina and Exponenciar S. A., the round showed record-breaking figures, with over 3000 business meetings delivering a volume of closed and potential business deals of USD 152 million. At the 8 previous LAC Flavors editions, 12,000 B2B meetings were carried out, generating a projected business volume of USD 610 million.

Over 360 Argentine food and beverages exporters participated at LAC Flavors, with more than 200 exporting companies from the rest of Latin America and the Caribbean, 120 buyers from 45 countries of the 5 continents, and 24 international promotion agencies from the region. The important results of LAC raise the expectations for the first edition of Aliment.AR, and the business rounds between 300 exhibiting companies and almost 350 world buyers will be taking place until Friday.

“We congratulate this initiative the IDB carried out and supported, that is held along with our LAC Flavors business round. Aliment.AR hopes to offer the best products of our country and our region to the world,” added the head of the Trade Division of the Inter-American Development Bank, Fabrizio Opertti yesterday at the opening.
